As some of you may already know, we did not reach our Kickstarter goal. This is a set-back for sure, because we want so badly to compensate our amazing contributors. That being said, if you still want to take this journey with us, we are more than happy to have you along. We have some big ideas that we would like to implement, and ultimately want this become a MOVEMENT. Here are a few new developments:
 1) We will be posting open letters in a new section of our site, in an effort to expose oppressive institutions and public personalities. Our goal for this section is to provide a place to vent, but also inform about ableist behaviors that are damaging.
2) We are changing our deadline to September 1st – but it will now be a rolling submission date, as we try to gather enough material for a possible series. Please continue to send us your work, because we will be approaching literary agents and publishers in the meantime, and we need representatives of work to present. We will contact contributors for permission before we submit their work, and will discuss any details we have at the moment.
 3) We want to network with other projects and communities that are geared toward representing marginalized voices, so please contact us if you have any ideas. Our goal is to work together as a community, and increase visibility for all projects doing work in the same vein.
 4) If you are thinking about contributing to the anthology project, but your piece doesn’t fit under the umbrella of our themes and guidelines, please email us anyway. We may be able to use the material for our Guest Blogs series.
That is pretty much all we have to announce at the moment, but please let us know if you have any ideas to make this project more accessible and inclusive. We want to hear from you!
Last but certainly not least, we want to thank all of you who have supported us along the way. Our gratitude can’t be explained in words, but it has helped fuel our commitment to this project, and that is invaluable.
